Frequently Asked Questions
Is Doccy legit?
Yes. Doccy is a fully legitimate Australian telehealth provider.
We operate as Doccy Pty Ltd, an ABN-registered Australian company, and we’re powered by Medlo Pty Ltd, a locum agency that supplies doctors to hospitals across Australia.
- ABN-registered Australian entities (Doccy Pty Ltd & Medlo)
- AHPRA-registered Australian doctors only
- Part of Australia’s existing healthcare network via Medlo
- Independently certified through LegitScript
- 5.0-star average rating on Google from dozens of reviews
In short: real company, real doctors, real regulation— not a fly-by-night website.
Are Doccy medical certificates accepted by employers and schools?
In most cases, yes. Doccy medical certificates are issued by AHPRA-registered Australian doctors and are created in line with Australian telehealth and general practice standards.
Each certificate includes:
- Doctor and practice details
- Dates and period covered
- Reason-for-leave wording where appropriate
- Any additional information the doctor deems clinically appropriate
As with any medical certificate in Australia, final acceptance is always up to the employer or institution, but Doccy certificates are designed to match the standard of an in-person certificate from your usual GP.
Who are the doctors behind Doccy?
Doccy consults are provided only by AHPRA-registered Australian doctors.
Many of our clinicians also work in hospitals, clinics and general practice across Australia.
Our founder, Dr Louis Sisk, has around a decade of medical experience including work in surgery, emergency and intensive care.
Because we’re powered by Medlo — a locum agency with hundreds of clinicians and partnerships with Australian hospitals — the same credentialing and compliance standards used for hospital work sit behind Doccy’s telehealth service.
Will I always get a certificate if I pay?
No — and that’s a good thing.
Your payment covers the consultation and the doctor’s time, not a guaranteed certificate. The doctor will:
- Review the information you provide
- Contact you if they need more detail
- Decide whether a certificate is clinically appropriate and safe
If a certificate isn’t appropriate, they’ll explain why and recommend the best next step (for example, seeing your usual GP in person or attending urgent care). That’s how responsible, legitimate telehealth works.
How fast will I receive my Doccy medical certificate?
For straightforward cases where a certificate is clearly appropriate, many patients receive their Doccy certificate within minutes of completing their online consult.
Timing can vary depending on:
- How complex your presentation is
- How complete your information is up-front
- Overall demand at that moment
- Whether the doctor needs to clarify anything or has safety concerns
We always prioritise safe, high-quality decisions over speed, but Doccy is designed to be fast and convenient for simple, low-risk issues.
Is my data safe with Doccy?
Yes. As an Australian telehealth provider, Doccy must comply with Australian privacy and health records laws.
- Secure infrastructure and encrypted data transmission
- Strict access controls for authorised clinicians and support staff
- Collection of only the information needed for safe care and compliance
- No selling of your health data to third parties
In short, your information is treated with the same level of confidentiality you’d expect from a traditional clinic or hospital.
How can I verify that Doccy is real and not a scam?
There are several simple ways to verify Doccy for yourself:
- Look up Doccy Pty Ltd and Medlo Pty Ltd on the Australian Business Register.
- Check our listing on Healthdirect, the government-funded national health service directory.
- Search for “Doccy” on LegitScript to see our independent telehealth certification.
- Read our Google reviews directly in Google.
Taken together, these checks confirm you’re dealing with a real, regulated Australian healthcare provider, not a scam site.
