What is the difference between an ED and a Minor Injury Clinic?

Emergency Departments (EDs) are full-service emergency facilities that treat all types of emergencies, including life-threatening conditions. Minor Injury Clinics (MICs) are satellite facilities that treat less serious injuries and illnesses such as sprains, minor cuts, and mild infections. MICs typically have shorter wait times but cannot treat serious emergencies.

What are treatment spaces?

Treatment spaces indicate the total capacity of the facility -- the number of beds or treatment areas available for patient care. This helps give context to patient waiting numbers; a facility with 50 treatment spaces and 10 patients waiting is under less pressure than one with 10 spaces and 10 waiting.
