Consultation fees
Clear fees. A considered decision.
Two types of consultation, depending on what you need. Both include a phone call with an Australian doctor. Your doctor decides whether an online prescription is appropriate.

Repeat prescription
$18.00AUD / consultation
For medication you've been prescribed before. Your doctor reviews your health and checks whether continuing treatment is appropriate.
One-off fees. No subscription. Medication costs are paid separately to your pharmacy. Medicare details are required; these consultations are not bulk billed.
If your prescription request is declined, we refund your consultation fee. See our terms and refund policy.
Care that fits around life
One less trip. Still a real conversation.
When you need a medication review, getting to a clinic isn't always easy. Online prescriptions can start with a conversation from home, work or somewhere quiet, without the travel to a waiting room.
Doccy brings the preparation and consultation together. Share your symptoms and history first, then talk them through with a doctor by phone. There's room to explain what's changed, ask questions and understand your options.
Telehealth is useful when an in-person examination isn't needed. It doesn't replace every GP visit, ongoing monitoring or emergency care. If your doctor thinks you need to be seen in person, they'll explain why and discuss the next step.
How it works
A little preparation. Then, a doctor's call.
Here's what to expect when you request a prescription online with Doccy. You'll need your phone and Medicare details, and you must be in Australia.
Step 1
Tell us what you need
Choose a new or repeat prescription consultation and complete the form. Share your symptoms, medication history, allergies and contact details. Check the consultation fee before continuing, and keep any information about your current treatment nearby.
Step 2
Complete your AI preconsult
The AI screening call asks about your symptoms and health history to help the doctor prepare. After the call, you enter the doctor queue. Keep your phone nearby: a doctor will call when available. Waiting times vary with demand.
Step 3
Talk it through with a doctor
Your doctor calls by phone, reviews your information and assesses what care is suitable. If they prescribe, your eScript token arrives by SMS for use at a participating pharmacy. If your prescription request is declined, we refund the consultation fee.
Your health comes first
The right next step starts with a proper assessment.
A prescription is a clinical decision. Your doctor needs to understand your health before deciding whether to start or continue treatment. An online form, AI call or payment cannot make that decision for them.
Be open about anything that could affect your care, even if it feels unrelated. If you're unsure of a medicine's name or dose, have its packaging or an existing prescription ready for the call.
What your doctor considers
Your symptoms: what's happening, how long it's been going on and whether anything has changed.
Your history: health conditions, allergies, current medicines and previous treatment.
Your care needs: whether an examination, tests, monitoring or a follow-up appointment are needed.
Some requests cannot be managed through telehealth. For urgent or severe symptoms, seek prompt medical care. Call 000 in an emergency.
New, repeat, or an existing token?
Start with what you already have.
Not every prescription question needs a new consultation. Checking your current prescription first can save you a step.
Continuing a medication
A repeat prescription consultation lets a doctor review treatment you've had before. Explain how it's working, any side effects and when you last had a review. Previous prescribing doesn't guarantee a new prescription; your current health still matters.
Discussing a new request
A new prescription consultation gives you space to explain your symptoms and discuss treatment options. Your doctor may recommend medication, other care or an in-person assessment. You don't need to know the answer before the conversation starts.
Using an existing repeat
If you have a valid prescription with authorised repeats, speak with your pharmacy about your next supply. For a lost original eScript token, contact the prescriber; for a lost repeat token, contact the pharmacy that issued it.
Know who's behind your care.
Doccy is an Australian telehealth service. Consultations are provided by AHPRA-registered doctors, who are responsible for their clinical decisions. The AI preconsult helps gather information; it does not issue prescriptions.

Prescriptions are issued only when clinically appropriate.
Questions about online prescriptions?
A few things to know before your consultation.
Can I get a prescription online in Australia?
Yes, a doctor can issue a prescription after a suitable telehealth consultation. At Doccy, you complete an online form and an AI preconsult call before joining the queue for a doctor's phone call. The doctor reviews your history, discusses your symptoms and decides whether prescribing is appropriate. Online prescriptions still require a clinical assessment; completing a request or paying a fee does not guarantee a prescription.
What's the difference between a new and repeat prescription?
A repeat prescription consultation is a review of medication you've been prescribed before. A new prescription consultation is for a new request or a discussion about treatment options. Both involve a doctor checking what is appropriate for you now. This is different from collecting an already-authorised repeat at a pharmacy. If you still have a valid repeat token, check with your pharmacist before paying for another consultation.
How much does an online prescription consultation cost?
A repeat prescription consultation costs $18.00 AUD, and a new prescription consultation costs $42.00 AUD. These are one-off consultation fees, not the price of medication or a subscription. If a doctor prescribes, you pay your pharmacy separately for the medicine. If your prescription request is declined, we refund your consultation fee. The prescribing decision always rests with the doctor, based on your health and circumstances.
Do I need a Medicare card?
Yes. Doccy's prescription form currently requires your Medicare details, including your individual reference number and the card's expiry date. You'll also provide your name, date of birth, address and contact details. Check these carefully so your identity can be matched correctly. Having a Medicare card does not make this consultation bulk billed: the consultation fees shown on this page apply. You must be in Australia when using this service.
Will I speak with a doctor or only an AI agent?
You will speak with a doctor by phone. The AI preconsult call comes first and gathers information about your symptoms and history to help the doctor prepare. After that call, you enter the consultation queue. A doctor calls when available, reviews the information with you and makes the clinical decision. Tell the doctor if anything in the recorded history is incorrect, incomplete or has changed since your preconsult.
Can I request any medication online?
Not every medication or health concern is suitable for this service. A doctor considers your symptoms, medical history, current medicines, allergies and any monitoring or examination you need. They may suggest further tests, an in-person appointment or follow-up with your usual GP. You can explain what you need in the consultation, but the doctor may recommend a different next step or decide that prescribing is not appropriate.
How will I receive and use my eScript?
If your doctor issues an electronic prescription, your eScript token is sent by SMS. The token gives the pharmacy access to the prescription; it is not the medicine itself. Take it to a pharmacy that accepts electronic prescriptions, where the pharmacist can check the prescription and arrange dispensing. Most Australian pharmacies support eScripts. Pharmacy charges and medicine availability are separate from your Doccy consultation, so ask the pharmacy about costs and stock.
What if I already have repeats or have lost my token?
If your prescription already includes repeats, the pharmacy provides a new token after dispensing for your next authorised supply. You may not need a new consultation. If you've lost the original prescription token, contact the prescriber. If you've lost a repeat token, contact the pharmacy that issued it. Your pharmacist can help you check what remains on your prescription and whether you need a doctor's review before your next supply.
How long does it take to get an online prescription?
There are three parts before a prescribing decision: your online form, the AI preconsult call and the doctor's phone consultation. You join the doctor queue after your preconsult, and a doctor calls when available. Waiting times depend on demand and clinical availability. Some requests need more information or an in-person assessment. We don't guarantee a prescription or a fixed turnaround. Keep your phone nearby and follow the instructions in your consultation dashboard.
What happens if my prescription request is declined?
The doctor will explain their assessment and recommend an appropriate next step, which may include seeing your usual GP or attending an in-person appointment. If your prescription request is declined, Doccy refunds your consultation fee. If your symptoms become urgent or severe while waiting, seek medical care rather than waiting for an online consultation; call 000 in an emergency.
