Doccy does not run a separate hiring process for doctors. Every doctor who consults on Doccy is credentialled through Medlo, the locum marketplace that backs Doccy. You verify your documents once, and the same approval clears you for Medlo shifts and for telehealth consults on Doccy.

This guide walks through that process from sign up to your first consult.

How Medlo and Doccy fit together

Medlo connects hospitals and clinics with locum doctors. Doccy is a telehealth service for patients, offering medical certificates, specialist referrals and related care, reviewed by AHPRA registered Australian doctors.

Both need the same thing from a doctor: proof that you are registered, insured, safe to work with patients, and able to be paid. Rather than ask you to prove this twice, Doccy relies on Medlo's verification. Access is one decision, not one per platform.

Step 1: Create your Medlo account

• Go to medlo.com.au and select sign up.
• Enter your email and verify it with the one-time code sent to you.
• Set up two-factor authentication. Your credentialling documents are protected by 2FA.

Step 2: Complete the verification checklist

Once signed in, your Medlo dashboard shows a verification checklist. Each step saves as you go, so you can leave and come back. Submitting a step is not the same as approval: our team reviews each item, and the checklist shows what is approved, what is awaiting review, and what still needs you.

Step 3: Get your Doccy provider number

Doccy is a practice location, so you need a Medicare provider number for it. The checklist includes a Doccy provider number step with the practice details you will enter into PRODA.

Step 4: Sign the contracts

There are two contracts, both signed inside the checklist:

• Medlo contract, covering locum work booked through Medlo
• Doccy contract, covering telehealth consults on Doccy

Each sets out the scope of work, payment terms, professional standards, confidentiality obligations and termination conditions. Read them before signing.

Step 5: Wait for approval

The final step, Get ready to work, lists only what is left. Rejected or expired documents appear alongside missing ones, because they need you again. Items with our team show as awaiting approval.

When every required item is approved, the screen changes to Ready to work. Your account is then approved for Doccy telehealth, and you can open Doccy from that screen.

Step 6: Start consulting on Doccy

On Doccy, you choose when you are available. While you are accepting consults, paid patient requests are distributed across available doctors. Pause when you are done, and new consults stop coming to you.

Doctors are paid per completed review. A medical certificate or specialist referral pays the same whether you approve or decline it, so your clinical judgment is never tied to the outcome.

Keeping your access

Credentialling is not a one-off. Indemnity certificates, police checks, working with children checks and visas expire. When a document lapses, the checklist moves it back to the items that need you. Upload the renewal before the expiry date to avoid a gap in access.
