UniSC's deferred examination procedures do not address telehealth or online certificates. What they do rule on is the content and timing of the document: it must be UniSC's own medical certificate, dated before or on the exam day, and non-specific statements such as the patient was experiencing a medical condition are not accepted.

A deferred examination lets you sit the paper at a later date when illness stopped you sitting it as scheduled. Submit the Application for Deferred Examination with UniSC's medical certificate attached. The certificate has to be dated before or on the exam day, which is the single most common reason applications fail.
Special consideration applies when you sat the examination but short term illness or exceptional circumstances outside your control affected your performance. You apply for a review of your final grade on this basis once the grade is released, rather than before the exam.
An extension moves the due date of an assessment item you can still complete. The same evidence rules apply: the practitioner's own assessment, the period you were unfit, and a statement about your capacity to study rather than to work.

See a doctor before or on the exam day. UniSC will not accept a certificate dated after the examination for a deferred exam.
Take UniSC's medical certificate to the consultation, so the practitioner completes UniSC's own fields, including the purpose of the certificate.
Ask the practitioner to record the duration of the illness and the separate period you were prevented from sitting, and to give their own assessment rather than repeat what you told them.
Check the wording speaks to your fitness to sit the examination. A certificate that says only unfit for work will be refused.
Lodge the Application for Deferred Examination before the exam, or within three working days after it, with the certificate attached.

The application can be lodged before the examination or within three working days after it. The certificate itself must be dated before or on the exam day, so the doctor's appointment has the earlier deadline.
The three common reasons are a certificate dated after the exam, a non-specific statement that you had a medical condition without the practitioner assessing you as medically unfit, and wording that says unfit for work rather than unfit to sit the examination.
Only with your consent. The certificate can name the condition where you have agreed to it, or state that it cannot be revealed. What it cannot do is leave out the practitioner's assessment of your fitness and the period involved.
If you sat the examination but your performance was affected by short term illness or exceptional circumstances outside your control, apply for a review of your final grade on special consideration grounds after the grade is released. If illness stopped you sitting at all, apply for a deferred examination instead.
