Lodge a deferred exam request through the Student Centre on or before your exam closing date, and attach a medical certificate or report from a registered practitioner dated on or before the exam. A certificate dated afterwards will not support the application.
Both short and long extensions are requested before the original published due date for the assessment task. There is no routine after-the-fact extension, so apply as soon as you know you will not finish in time.
Usually two to five University business days when your documentation is complete. Incomplete applications wait, so attach the certificate at the time you apply rather than sending it later.

What the certificate must state, and what gets it refused.

Decisions usually take two to five University business days when the documentation is complete, so apply before the due date rather than after it. Apply for each affected assessment item separately, and keep studying while the request is assessed.
